Overview
The Prompt Library let you create reusable, pre-defined prompts in Assistant, helping you save time and streamline your workflow. To help you get started, we’ve provided a few examples for common use cases.
Accessing the Prompt Library
You can access the Prompt Library by clicking the 'Prompts' option above the chat in Assistant.
In the Prompt Library you will find, out of the box, prompts created by the Legora team and your organisation, if applicable. You may also see prompts shared with you by your colleagues.
Navigating the Prompt Library
You can navigate the Prompt Library through the filters available on the lefthand side;
Favourites: If you select or hover over a prompt and then press '♥', this prompt will be saved as a favourite prompt.
New: New prompts that are available to you;
Most Recent: Any prompts that you have recently used;
My Prompts: Prompts created by you;
by [Your Organisation]: Any prompts created by your organisation;
by Legora: Any prompts created by Legora;
Word Add-In: Any prompts that have been toggled to be available in the Word Add-In.
Using a Prompt from the Prompt Library
Here is what you need to know about creating a Prompt created by Legora or your organisation:
Select a Prompt: Click on the Prompts button from within the Assistant and choose a prompt that aligns with your task, whether it’s case analysis, contract summaries, or another focused inquiry. As you and your team create and share more Prompts, you can search and manage them here.
Information Icon: Each prompt includes an information icon. Hover over it to view any usage instructions for that individual Prompt.
Expand Prompt: Clicking the > icon next to the information icon lets you see the exact prompt the Prompt Library injects.
Remove Prompt: To remove a Prompt from the prompt window, click the X icon beside the > icon.
Once activated, you can add additional information and add documents according to your prompt-specific settings.
Creating a New Prompt in the Prompt Library
To create your own personalised prompt is quick and easy, click Prompts located below the input field on the Assistant page, or go to your Prompt settings page and click New Prompt there.
Creating a prompt is simple, each of the fields below can be populated when creating your prompt:
Name: Give your prompt an informative name so that you can easily identify it later
Documents: Here you can specify whether you want the prompt to be used with a number of documents, or if it should be used without any documents.
Prompt: The prompt is the piece of text that is sent to Legora upon using the prompt. Think of it as a normal message you would send to Legora. It can be a comprehensive question or an instruction and include output formatting, if you like. Learn more about prompting techniques here.
Usage Instructions (optional): Usage instructions will be displayed in the Prompt Library for those who have access, where you can added additional instructions.
Tags (optional): You can use tags to indicate what the prompt can be used for, or to indicate the relevant practice group.
Pro Tip
If you find an example Prompt that you like, you can duplicate it and customise it to your needs.
Managing your Prompts
You can view, edit, or delete your prompt anytime in your Prompt library.
Sharing Prompts
Once you’ve created a prompt you can share it with specific users or your whole organisation. To do this, simply access your list of prompts, open the prompt and select ‘Share’. You can then select the specific users or whether you’d like to share it with the whole organisation.
