Overview

Creating a prompt in the Prompt library on Legora is a great way to save and re-use prompts for different use cases, as well as share them with specific colleagues or practice groups, or with your organisation.

Accessing the Prompt library

You can access the Prompt library by clicking the 'Explore all prompts' option below the chat in Assistant, if you have not chatted with the Assistant yet;

Once you have started your conversation with the Assistant, you can find the 'Prompt library' option above the chat in Assistant;

Creating a Prompt

  1. From inside the Prompt Library select 'New Prompt',

  2. Then, populate the following information:

    • Name: Give your prompt an informative name so that you can easily identify it later.

    • Documents: Here you can specify whether you want the prompt to be used with a number of documents, or if it should be used without any documents.

    • Prompt: The prompt is the piece of text that is sent to Legora upon using the prompt. Think of it as a normal message you would send to Legora. It can be a comprehensive question or an instruction and include output formatting, if you like. Learn more about prompting techniques here.

    • Usage Instructions (optional): Usage instructions will be displayed in the Prompt Library for those who have access, where you can added additional instructions.

    • Tags (optional): You can use tags to indicate what the prompt can be used for, or to indicate the relevant practice group.

Pro Tip

If you are struggling with an idea for creating a new prompt, we suggest:

  1. Reviewing the prompts that have been shared with you by Legora by selecting the 'by Legora' filter in the Prompt Library;

  2. Find a prompt that you can imagine you might use frequently and select 'duplicate'.

  3. Now, modify the prompt to your own preferences. For example:

    • 'Translate - Text' - include an additional instruction about your preferred language for Legora to translate the text to, then add that language to the name of the prompt. Legora will then always translate the text to that language;

    • 'NDA Review' - add or remove clauses that you are not relevant to you when you review an NDA.
