December brings feature releases focusing on faster workflows, clearer in‑app experiences, and on‑the‑go productivity. Below you’ll find the month’s shipped items with brief summaries and links to learn more.
Editor (Dec 19th)
Editor enables legal teams to create, review, and collaborate on documents entirely within Legora, with AI support built into the drafting flow. It is designed for drafting from scratch in a shared workspace, then exporting a client-ready .docx that matches firm styling.
What’s new:
Draft and collaborate in a live document inside Legora.
Refine and analyze with Assistant, with accept and reject controls and keyboard shortcuts.
Export to .docx while preserving style guidelines and aligning to Word templates.
Outlook Add-In (Dec 19th)
Outlook is where a lot of legal work starts and ends. The Legora Outlook Add-in brings the Assistant directly into Outlook, so lawyers can draft, refine, and summarize emails without jumping between tools.
With the Outlook Add-in, lawyers can:
Draft and refine emails in the context of the thread they are replying to.
Summarize long email threads to get to the point faster.
Move work between Legora and Outlook by saving emails and attachments into Legora, or attaching Legora documents back into an email as a file or a secure link.
Workflow improvements (Dec 19th)
Workflows now support a set of improvements designed to make legal automation easier to build and easier to connect to the rest of your work in Legora.
What’s new:
Legal Research can now be used as a step in Workflows, so teams can compare sources and jurisdictions as part of a repeatable process.
Existing Tabular Reviews can now be used as workflow inputs, so you can read from and write to a review directly from a Workflow.
File inputs can be optional, inputs can be re-ordered, and both input names and text inputs now support longer values (text up to 1,000 characters, with multi-line support).
Improved file upload management (Dec 18th)
Uploading large sets of documents should feel predictable. Legora’s file upload experience now handles duplicates, failures, and ZIP files more gracefully, so legal teams can keep work moving even when uploads are interrupted.
Updates include:
Clear upload states and progress that separate uploading from processing, so it is easier to understand what is happening.
Retry options for failed uploads, either file-by-file or in one step for everything that failed in a batch.
Automatic deduplication on re-upload, which skips files that were already uploaded successfully.
A persistent uploads tray and history, so outcomes and retries are not lost in transient notifications.
ZIP file uploads, with safeguards designed to reduce risk when processing compressed files.
Email the Assistant (Dec 3rd)
Sometimes you just need a fast answer without logging in or setting anything up. Email the Assistant lets lawyers send an email thread (and attachments) to Legora and get a response back with citations.
Email the Assistant is designed for:
Quick, asynchronous questions while staying in email.
Lawyers who are on the go or prefer to work from their inbox.
Getting grounded answers that reference the materials shared in the email.
