Overview

This section explains what decides how you sign in to Legora. Your organisation chooses how its members sign in: single sign-on (SSO) through its identity provider, an email address and password, or either. You cannot change your sign-in method yourself. Ask your organisation’s Admin or IT team if you need a different one.
Which sign-in system does your organisation use? Check the address you sign in at.
  • Regional authentication: You sign in at a regional URL: app.eu.legora.com, app.us.legora.com, app.ap.legora.com, or app.au.legora.com.
  • Legora’s global authentication: You sign in at app.legora.com or a dedicated URL, such as acme.app.legora.com.
You can also check in Legora. From your name on the menu, select Settings > Personal > Profile. Under Workspace access, Sign-in shows Global or Regional.

How it works

This section covers where to sign in and what to expect on each device.

Sign in on the web

Where you start depends on your organisation’s sign-in system.
  1. Open the login page for your sign-in system.
  2. Enter your work email.
  3. Sign in with SSO, or enter your password. If your organisation requires two-factor authentication, confirm your identity with your second factor.
  4. On Legora’s global authentication, if your account belongs to more than one organisation, select one on Choose a workspace.
On regional authentication, your account works only in the region your organisation is registered in. On Legora’s global authentication, Legora opens your organisation’s dedicated URL. Regional URLs still work after the move, and they forward you to that URL once you sign in.

Sign in to the Word and Outlook add-ins

The add-ins open their own sign-in window, so you sign in there even when you are already signed in on the web.

Sign in to the mobile app

The mobile app asks for a region before you sign in.
  • Region: Select your region, Europe, US, APAC, or Australia, if your organisation uses regional authentication. Select Global if it uses Legora’s global authentication.
  • Sign-in: Enter your work email, then sign in with SSO or your password.
See Legora mobile app for more about the app.

How long you stay signed in

Legora keeps you signed in while you keep working, and asks you to sign in again after a period away.
  • Regional authentication: You sign in again after 24 hours away, and at least every 30 days.
  • Legora’s global authentication: Your organisation’s Admin sets how long you can be away. The default is 30 days.
Changing or resetting your password signs you out on every device.

Troubleshooting

These are common questions about signing in.

Why can I not sign in?

See Why can I not log in to Legora? for fixes to common sign-in errors.

Why can I not sign in to the mobile app when the web works?

Check that you selected the right region. Select your region if you sign in at a regional URL, such as app.eu.legora.com. Select Global if you sign in at app.legora.com or a dedicated *.app.legora.com URL. If you’re not sure, check Sign-in under Settings > Personal > Profile in the web app. On regional authentication, the mobile app cannot sign you in if your organisation requires two-factor authentication. Use the web app or the add-ins instead.
